Anything I Dream

Anything I Dream was commissioned by the King’s School in 2014 by Head of Junior School Music – Jonathan Todhunter especially for the PYP year 6 graduation. It was the start of a special collaboration between Paul and the school that continues to this day.

Paul worked with all students in year 6 to develop ideas regarding dreams and growth. They would present a years worth of research and development in a special presentation to the community once the premier took place. The first performance featured an accompanist and string orchestra entirely made up of students 12 years old.

This piece is well suited to any graduation event, especially upper primary and it is very well suited to boys.

Standing at the edge, looking out into the world

I can write the stories, I can paint the scene
I can play my music, sail into the wind
I can run the distance, I can ride the waves
I can meet the challenges facing every day
 
I can lead an army, I can bring us peace,
I can teach the children to stand up and speak
I can reach the stars, I can raise the bar
I can cure disease and find a better path

I can build the bridges that join us all as one
I can make devices that take us far beyond
I can grow the food that everyone can share
I can help the needy when they need that special care

I can save the wild, I can guard the whales
I can guide our planet to make a better change
I can train the brightest, I can coach the team
I can live my passions, anything I dream
